Devilicious

lkatulka at Oz Music Scene
Nikki Webster is giving a musical career another whirl with a brand new single "Devilicious". As the name suggests, the song showcases a new sexed-up Nikki. It's a world away from the kid who wowed us at the Sydney Olympics before earning national scorn with "Strawberry Kisses". The track's certainly got the right amount of pop cred, with Peter Rafelson (Britney Spears, Madonna) and Mike Rizzo (Beyonce) sharing songwriting credits. It's an up-tempo slice of electro dance pop with a hot film clip featuring some scantily clad beauties. It's not all that revolutionary, but it's the sort of thing that tends to sell these days. I've always felt a little bit sorry for Nikki, so I hope Australia accepts this song on its own merits and gives it a chance.

The Best Days/Over The Rainbow

Smash Hits
A double header from Nikki just in time for the end of school and Christmas combines a ballad and a disco-tingled bopper to keep everyone happy. The lead track is remixed from the album by someone who's a big fan of Kylie's On A Night Like This - and the style really suits her. With it's summery vid, it has the potential to be her biggest hit yet. And on the other extreme, Over The Rainbow is, of course, Nikki's big number from The Wizard Of Oz. Produced to sound not unlike Beauty School Dropout from Grease, Nikki gives it her all but should leave the more Mariah-like vocals to someone a bit older. The song won't win her any converts but it is a worthwhile edition.

Depend On Me

TV Hits
Nikki can do no wrong. This second single from her debut solo album is a little less boppy than Strawberry Kisses and more likely to strike an emotional cord with her fans.

Strawberry Kisses

TV Hits
The debut solo single from our Olympic girl Nikki Webster is something entirely different to her dramatic, ballad-laden performance at the Games. This is an upbeat, fluffy song that showcases her voice better than anything you've heard her sing. A cute and catchy number.

UK Newspaper
Fourteen-year-old Nikki Webster could well follow fellow Aussie Holly Valance to the top of the charts in the not too distant future. Unphazed by performing with Michael Jackson, and at the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony, her debut single is a good'un, with a Fine Young Cannibals She drives me crazy sound to it. She has a very powerful voice, it's a catchy tune and there's no reason her success Down Under won't follow here.
